No repair. Now they want R 1,625 to send it back.

What happened

From delivery to today, in order.

  1. The keyboard stopped working about two weeks after the MacBook arrived. The battery failed soon after.

  2. First warranty claim logged. The device was never collected, and the claim was cancelled.

  3. New claim opened. Nine calls to support went unanswered. The device was collected on 29 July.

  4. Portal shows the device as "To ship back". It never arrived.

  5. Support says the device is currently undergoing comprehensive quality checks.

  6. Six emails, all saying they are waiting for their logistics partners.

  7. I had to reopen the claim a third time.

  8. Revibe asks for my device passcode and Apple ID. I send them the next day.

  9. Revibe: two months is far too long. Case escalated to senior management.

  10. Three promises of an update within 72 hours. None was kept.

  11. Revibe asks me to disable two-factor authentication. I remove the device from my Apple account the next morning so they can access it.

  12. Revibe says it is unable to proceed with your claim. It offers to return the device as is, without any repairs if I pay a R 1,625 shipping fee.

  13. Still no repair, no device and no tracking number.

What I'm asking for

I sent in a 2015 MacBook Pro for a warranty repair. After more than three months and two closed claims, I'm no longer asking for that device back.

  • A MacBook Pro from 2024–2026, in full working condition, delivered with a courier tracking number at no cost to me.

I'll update this page as soon as that happens.
